Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG)

Balance Point Capital recognizes the importance of environmental, social, and governance (“ESG”) considerations. The tenets of our ESG policy are summarized below and our formal ESG policy can be downloaded here.

Our ESG Beliefs

01.

We believe that private capital providers can actively engage in ESG-related initiatives and, at the same time, achieve superior investment results for their investors.

02.

We believe that embracing ESG-related initiatives enhances the reputation of the private capital industry, which will benefit both the industry as a whole and its investors.

Our ESG Practices

We have and will continue to support the following ESG-related principles and initiatives at our firm and portfolio companies, including:
01.

A focus on growth companies rather than turnaround or distressed investing.

02.

Consideration of ESG-related issues during the diligence, execution, monitoring and disposition stages of our investment process.

03.

General support and monitoring of the concepts underlying many of the principles expressed in the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI).

04.

Investment restrictions with respect to hostile or “non-negotiated” acquisitions and particular industries.

05.

Support and guidance for portfolio companies undertaking ESG-related initiatives during our period of investment.

06.

Endeavoring to be a responsible employer by creating a culture in which we develop a diverse pool of high caliber employees and staff, and having a commitment to talent management and development to give everyone at the firm an opportunity to perform to the best of their ability.

07.

Upholding high standards of business conduct.
